Daniel A. Rottier is the Chief Operating Officer of the firm and is a member of its Executive Committee. He received his undergraduate degree with honors from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1973, and his juris doctor from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1976. He was elected a Fellow of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers in 1990, a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers in 1994, and a Diplomate of the American Board of Trial Advocates in 1990. Mr. Rottier has been certified as a Civil Trial Advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy since 1982 and is listed in the Best Lawyers in America. He is also a Fellow of the Wisconsin Law Foundation.

Mr. Rottier is admitted to practice before the courts in Wisconsin, the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin, the United States Court of Appeals, Seventh Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States, before which he gave an oral argument in Molzof v. United States of America in 1992. He has been admitted pro hac vice in courts in seventeen states. He serves on the Board of Governors of the American Association for Justice. He is President of the Wisconsin Association for Justice. He is past chair of the Litigation Section of the State Bar of Wisconsin. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Dane County Bar Association and the Trial Lawyers for Public Justice. Mr Rottier has served on numerous professional committees at the University of Wisconsin Law School.

Mr. Rottier has taught courses at the University of Wisconsin Law School in General Practice and Trial Advocacy since 1982. He has given frequent lectures to various professional groups, including the State Bar of Wisconsin, the Wisconsin Association for Justice, the American Association for Justice, the Law School and the College of Engineering at the University of Wisconsin and at the Marquette University School of Law.
