Milwaukee officer drives drunk, gets suspended

Posted on Tuesday, January 31st, 2012 at 12:08 pm

Last March in Milwaukee an off-duty police officer got behind the wheel after drinking. The 44-year-old lost control of his vehicle on Congress Parkway and crashed into the Lincoln Creek.

His blood alcohol level was two times more than the legal limit at the time of his arrest. He was also carrying a loaded weapon. He chose to plead guilty to the misdemeanor and was behind bars for one day.

Today, the Milwaukee police officer has been put on suspension from his line of work for the next 45 days due to his drunk driving conviction. His arrest last year led to an investigation into drunk driving in the police force and there have been new statutes put into place to curb the incidents.
