A drunk driving charge was recently filed against a driver from Stevens Point after he was pulled over by state authorities, a June 6 article of Stevens Point Journal reported.
Information coming from the Wisconsin State Patrol revealed 48-year-old Bernard Thompson was apprehended near State 22 and Portage County AA on June 4. During his arrest, Thompson reportedly had a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of 0.151 percent, far beyond the legal state driving limit of 0.08 percent. A cash bond worth $2,500 was imposed on Thompson upon his detention at Portage County Jail. A six-year maximum jail term awaits Thompson if he is found guilty of his 5th drunk driving offense.
