Posted on June 21, 2016 9:44 am under Personal Injury

33-year-old Mount Pleasant resident Andrew Lawrence sustained severe head trauma and was airlifted via Flight for Life to Froedtert Hospital after he collided with a train on Saturday, June 18. The accident occurred in Milwaukee at approximately 11:35 p.m. on Highway K, near Highway H.

Lieutenant Gary Larsen of the Caledonia Police Department said Lawrence was headed east on Highway K when he attempted to navigate around the train’s traffic control arms, which were down. The maneuver caused his vehicle to crash into the Hiawatha/Amtrak train, which was heading south. Lawrence never became conscious after the crash. The incident is still under investigation. Police are currently unsure as to whether alcohol played a role in the accident.
