On June 23 at 3:00 a.m., a Wauwatosa police officer encountered a suspicious vehicle parked in Madison Park. Inside the car, there was a man with a gun. Wauwatosa Police Chief Barry Weber said the officer feared for his safety and discharged his own weapon, striking the man. The man was pronounced dead after being transported to Froedtert Hospital. The officer was not injured and has been placed on administrative leave for the time being.
Family members of the man who was shot claimed that they were too distraught to speak on camera, but told FOX6 News that his name was Jay Anderson, a 25-year-old man with a birthday coming up in July. According to his family, Anderson was a great father, and was kind, caring and loved by many. The Milwaukee Police Department is leading the investigation to discover what events led up to the shooting.
The thoughts and condolences of the attorneys at Habush Habush & Rottier S.C. ® are with the family of the victim and the Wouwatosa Police during this difficult time.
