Posted on June 29, 2016 2:08 pm under Recreational Vehicle Accidents

On Sunday, June 26th at 12:07 AM, Dane County Sheriff’s Marine and Trail deputies were called to Lake Monona to search for a capsized boat and stranded boaters.

Among the seven occupants of the boat, one was able to swim to shore and alert the authorities about the situation. The marine authorities and trail deputies located the capsized boat and six other stranded boaters approximately one mile from Tonyawatha Trail. Three of the stranded boaters were in the water clinging to the boat and three others, including a ten-year-old, were on top of the capsized boat. No injuries were reported.
