Kunle Famakinwa, Jr., was charged last Tuesday, June 28 with possession of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, reckless driving, and reckless injury in relation to an accident that happened after the Cedarburg Strawberry Festival. The accident occurred last Sunday, June 26 along Western Road, near Hanover Street, and resulted in two women sustaining injuries.

According to preliminary investigations, Famakinwa crossed the center line of Western Road and struck another vehicle, then veered from the roadway and hit two female pedestrians. One of the victims, a 38-year-old woman, sustained a broken rib. Her mother faced a fractured neck vertebrae and several broken ribs. Famakinwa said the arresting police officers were behaving in a “racially hostile manner as he was black and the police officers were white.”
