Four people were taken to the hospital on Tuesday, July 19, due to a five-car crash that occurred on Highway 51 during rush hour.

The Madison Fire Department reported that a Dodge Grand Caravan was traveling around 20 mph around 5 p.m. when it ran into a Chevy Traverse. This set off a chain-reaction collision that involved three more cars. All occupants were wearing seatbelts and the airbags in the Caravan went off. Four out of the five people involved were taken to hospitals. The Madison Fire Department, Madison Police, McFarland Police, and the Dane county Sheriff’s Office were on the scene following the crash.
