Two people – a man and a woman – lost their lives in a collision between a sport utility vehicle and a motorcycle last Sunday, July 3 at around 2:30 p.m. The accident occurred along Highway G, near Rettenmund Road, located outside Mount Vernon in the Town of Primrose in Dane County, Wisconsin.

According to preliminary investigations made by the Dane County Sheriff’s Office, a 2000 Harley-Davidson motorcycle was traveling north along Highway G when it collided with a 2005 Honda Pilot that was going south along Highway G. The deceased were identified as a 53-year-old man from Janesville in Rock County and a 26-year-old woman from Mineral Point in Iowa County. They were riding the motorcycle involved in the crash. The 66-year-old woman from Mount Horeb, who was driving the Honda, had no visible signs of injuries but was taken to the hospital.

Lieutenant Krista Hayes said Dane County Sheriff’s deputies, the Mount Horeb Police Department, Mount Horeb Emergency Medical Services personnel, and two MedFlight emergency helicopter ambulances arrived on the scene in response to the accident.
