Road accidents increase in Wisconsin construction areas

State authorities in Wisconsin recently noted a surge in road accidents in construction zones as many families go on vacation this summer season, an article of Fox 6 reported on July 6.

On July 5, officials from Jackson Fire reported a three-vehicle accident on Highway 145 that resulted in nine people injured. On the same day, at least one person was killed after his vehicle struck a semi truck from behind in Fond du Lac. Aside from a surge in vacationing families, construction zones are also more common in the summer. Motorist William Dumovich, who recently returned from a vacation with his family, believed the accidents were largely caused by drivers using their phones while behind the wheel. The Wisconsin State Patrol advises motorists to heed to construction road signage, refrain from using phones, and slow down when approaching construction zones.
