Potato salad gets recalled by Hearn Kirkwood after the use-by date

Hearn Kirkwood, a Maryland-based distributing company, recalled “Evie’s Cheddar Potato Macaroni Salad” in response to a recall from the National Frozen Foods for frozen green peas that go into the product.

Product Description: 6.0 oz. clear plastic containers with the name ‘Evie’s Cheddar Potato Macaroni Salad,’ UPC code 6637511772 and ‘use by’ dates of 04/15/16 to 06/20/16.”

Problem: potato salad contained frozen peas that were recalled June 17 for potential Listeria monocytogenes contamination.

Store outlets: Amazon Fresh in the locations Bellevue, Washington area between 04/08/16 and 06/13/16

Healthy individuals may only experience very short-term fever-like symptoms, though those that are particularly young or old may face fatal infections from the listeria bacteria. In pregnant people, infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths.
