A Washington State dairy has recalled raw goat milk due to E. coli

A Vashon Island, WA, dairy producer has recalled raw goat milk that failed tests that detect E. coli. Burton Hill Farm & Dairy sold the now-recalled goat milk between June 22 and 29 and is labeled with sell-by dates between June 29 and July 1.

The goat milk that was ultimately tested never was sold to the public, but it is possible that the batches surrounding it also contained the bacteria. Around nine quarts of goat milk were sold at the Phinney Farmer’s Market and one at the Vashon Farmer’s Market.
