Officials for Grant County stated that a kitten caused two separate crashes, involving a total of five cars, on the Dubuque-Wisconsin bridge over the Mississippi River. A driver, Michelle Jones, slowed down for the kitten when she saw it on the bridge in the left lane.

The 39-year-old from Hazel Green caused two cars behind her to brake suddenly, avoiding hitting her, but Cole Brandt, 21, also of Hazel Green, hit one of those vehicles, a Chevy Malibu driven by Clare Blum, 23, of Cassville, with his pickup truck.

Further back, Monica Brester, 21, of Pewaukee, slowed down her Ford Escape suddenly when she saw the accidents ahead and was hit by Paige Powers, 23, of Platteville, who was driving a Chevy Cruze.

No one faced injuries due to the accident, though it remains under investigation. Reports stated that the kitten survived and was taken by police to a local Humane Society.
