Following two crashes over the weekend before July 18, the Dane County Sheriff’s Office put out a notice reminding people to put away Pokemon Go while driving.

The first accident occurred around 2:35 a.m. on Saturday when a 25-year-old driver from Madison continued straight out into a curve and hit a pole. He received a citation for a First Offence OWI and Inattentive Driving after admitting to playing Pokemon Go during his drive.

The second accident happened around 4 hours later when at 26-year-old left the road and hit a tree, starting his car on fire. He was also cited for a First Offence OWI on top of a citation for operating left of center and driving without insurance. Both men were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
