Three-house fire took two and a half hours to be put out

The Milwaukee Fire Department responded to a fire that set off two alarms across three houses late on Tuesday, July 19.

The fire appears to have begun on the upper floor of the affected house in the middle, starting around 11:30 p.m. and spreading to the two neighboring houses. Firefighters worked for about two and a half hours, unaided by the hot and humid weather.

All residents were evacuated safely and assisted by the Red Cross, while one firefighter went to a local hospital for a cut on his hand. The cause of the fire is still under investigation and the total damage done has not yet be appraised.
