A house in the 1000 block of Lathrop Avenue caught fire around 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 23.

Firefighters responded to a 911 call made from a neighbor and though all of the residents were home, there were no reported injuries. The fire took around an hour and a half to extinguish, even with the assistance of extra fire trucks. Most of the $125,000 worth of damage was done to the second floor, attic, and roof, and the family is being assisted by relatives. The cause of the fire remains unknown.
