On Sunday afternoon, July 31, two people were involved in a head-on crash on Highway 11 near Footville, according to Rock County Sheriff.
The 24-year-old drunk driver, Jerod Sandlin, crossed the center line and hit 19-year-old Andrew McLaughlin, who had to be pulled from his Jeep and taken to Mercy Hospital for leg injuries. Sandlin experienced minor head injury and was treated at the same hospital.
Sandlin is facing his second citation for operating while intoxicated (OWI), operating with a revoked license, not using a seat belt, carrying no proof of valid insurance, and operating left of center.
