As of August 11, 2016, 60,000 units of SpeeCo’s fence wire stretchers, which are used for gripping and tightening wire, are being recalled.

Product description: The product is black and has a grip on the handle made of rubber. In total, the product is about a foot high, one inch wide, and is just under three feet long. Model numbers are S16111500, S161115TSC, or S16112000, which is printed on a label on the product packaging. Sold between April of last year and this August at Ace, True Value hardware stores, and other similar hardware and farm equipment stores, as well as on Amazon.com.

Hazard: While recoiling, wires can unexpectedly snap, posing a risk for deep cuts. Two people have reported such accidents while using the product.

SpeeCo is offering a full refund for the affected items and ask that their customers stop use immediately.
