Following 29 reports of cracked helmets, Xenith issued a recall of nearly 6,000 football helmets because the defect could lead to head injuries.
Product Description: The affected models include Xenith Epic Varsity, X2 Varsity, X2E Varsity, and Youth helmets. All have a glossy or metallic appearance and would have been sold or reconditioned between May 1 of last year and March 18 of this year. A complete list of affected serial numbers can be viewed on the Consumer Product Safety Commission website, as some models are affected by size or color.
Sold: A majority would’ve been sold directly to schools, while others could be purchased online. Xenith will be offering full refunds.
