Honeywell recalled a single lot of Eyesaline Eyewash solution on August 19, 2016, to comply with standards set by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The product, which is meant as an emergency eye rinse, has a small risk of contamination with Klebsiella pneumoniae, a naturally occurring bacteria of the skin and mouth, which can cause blindness in high quantities. No injuries have been reported to date.
The product was distributed in nearly 10,000 32-ounce bottles, marked with lot number F16091-61. All distributors have been contacted about the recall and have been instructed to contact their customers. If you have an affected product, immediately stop use and return to your distributor for a replacement or refund.
