Monroe authorities are investigating a crash between a moped and pickup truck that happened on Thursday, just before 11 a.m., at the intersection of 9th Avenue and 22nd Street.
The Monroe Police Department, who responded to the crash, found Cole Lincicum, 15, of Monroe, had pulled out from a stop sign on his moped into a pickup truck driven by 18-year-old Larissa Etheridge of Monroe. Lincicum sustained serious injuries and was brought by the crews to the Monroe Clinic Hospital. Authorities say he was later airlifted to UW Hospital in Madison through MedFlight. Ethridge was not injured in the crash.
Ethridge’s pickup truck was slightly damaged, while Lincicum’s moped was extensively damaged. The Wisconsin State Patrol is working with Monroe Police in the investigation.
