Green Bay Recall: Beef Brain Products

Posted on September 25, 2016 6:13 pm under Defective Food Product

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) released a statement on August 24 that nearly 7,500 pounds of cow brain products would be recalled. The product, distributed by Green Bay Dressed Beef, LLC, owner of American Foods Group, LLC, may be contaminated with specified risk materials.

The recalled items are packed in 15-unit cases of beef brains labeled “AMERICAN FOODS GROUP BEEF BRAINS <30” and with packaging code 06400. Production dates are between April 24 and August 11 of this year. Products with the establishment number “EST. 410,” marked inside the USDA mark of inspection, and shipped to a distributor in California are the affected products.

There have been no incidents of injury from consuming the products so far, but anyone with symptoms that may be related should immediately contact their healthcare provider. Consumers with the affected product should not eat them, but rather throw them away or return them.

If you or someone you know has faced illness due to a defective food product, you may have legal options to potentially obtain compensation. Contact an attorney with Habush Habush & Rottier S.C. ® at (414) 271-0900 as soon as possible for the best results.
