24 Fire Departments Respond to Dousman Buses Blaze

Posted on October 7, 2016 1:39 pm under Fires and Explosions

On Sunday, October 2, Dousman Transport’s North Lake bus depot experienced a fire, which destroyed anywhere from 30 to 40 buses as well as the building where they were housed.

Twenty-four fire departments in the area were called to respond around 1 p.m. as well as several police departments, including the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Office. The fire affected the Arrowhead Schools, Lake Country School District, North Lake School District, and several other public and private schools in the area. Dousman Transport assured these districts, however, that their bus schedules would remain active as several drivers were sent to various other depots for replacement buses.

The Arrowhead Schools twitter account released a statement confirming the presence  of extra buses and reassured parents that the bus schedule had been normal. The fire remains under investigation.
