A boating accident, in which two people were injured, occurred on Saturday night, October 8 when the boat ran into the break wall at the northern part of McKinley Marina.
The two operators, men from Milwaukee, were driving the boat quicker than was safe when the collision happened. The occupants of a second, nearby boat, were able to immediately drop a skiff and come to their rescue. The two victims were brought ashore where they would receive initial treatment from the Milwaukee Fire Rescue crew.
As the two undergo treatment for their non-life-threatening injuries, an investigation has been launched into whether alcohol was a contributing factor to the accident. The boat has yet to be removed from the wall.
