Evansville firemen extinguished restaurant and bar fire

A downtown fire that started late Wednesday night, October 5, at Evansville was extinguished after a few hours by firefighters.

The Evansville Fire Department responded to a report of the fire at Night Owl Food and Spirits around 10:00 p.m. and sought assistance from several other crews. No one was injured in the blaze but fighting it took the crews into early Thursday morning.

Firefighters are not certain as to the actual source of the fire, but they were led to think it began on the building’s lowest level. The building, which is 100 years old, is connected to other establishments and it is unclear whether the Night Owl will open again soon.
