Voluntary Recall: Chocolate Shoppe with Cookie Dough pieces

Posted on October 19, 2016 3:50 pm under Defective Food Product

Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream, a Madison-based company, announced on October 11 that they were recalling some products, specifically those with cookie dough, because of listeria concerns.

The supplier, Aspen Hills, voluntarily issued the recall because it found deficiencies in the system in place to maintain the safety of the food. These deficiencies included lack of proper documentation and failure to wear the correct uniform.

Products included in the recall:

Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream 3 gallons
Cookie Dough, Heaps of Love, Peanut Butter Cookie Dough, Sticks & Stones, Yippee Skippee

Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream pints
Cookie Dough

Baked Bear brand 3 gallons
Cookie Dough

There have been no illnesses in relation to the recall and Chocolate Shoppe has done independent testing in which the products were found negative for Listeria.
