Waukesha caregiver arrested for hitting dementia patient

Posted on October 21, 2016 2:23 pm under Nursing Home Abuse

An in-patient care facility worker from the Waukesha Springs Health and Rehabilitation Center has been apprehended when it came to light that she had attacked one of the patients.

Though the incident happened in April, a complaint against the woman wasn’t filed until October 21. The worker, 38-year-old Angela Gabriel, had been tasked with cleaning her victim and when the patient began to call her names, another nurse stated that Gabriel hit the patient so hard that she could hear it from another room.

Gabriel, who may or may not have been still working at the establishment, had been charged with the deliberate abuse of the patient with intent to inflict significant damage—a felony.
