A new fire extinguisher, aptly named “X-tinguish”, has been introduced by a Wisconsin company as modern, more efficient, and less dangerous than it’s counterparts.
Ten 2 Communications’ tool uses potassium gas to keep the flame from feeding on oxygen, allowing for deployment at a distance and lowers the risk of water damage to the area.
When recently used at a Houghtonville fire, one officer was able to reduce the amount of fire in the unit as well as eliminate the heat. When firefighters actually arrived on the scene, under five minutes later, they had very little work to do inside the building itself.
The device is available for personal use at a price of $650. Several teams across Wisconsin are beginning to use the devices.
