Three-vehicle crash injures one in Columbia County

Two people were injured, one severely, in an accident between three different vehicles on Tuesday, October 18.

Just before 9:00 p.m. the evening of the accident, a pickup truck and a car were traveling along Highway 22. The car had made let a tractor pass, slowing significantly without the notice of the truck driver. The pickup truck slammed into the back of the car and then quickly turned, hitting the tractor and sending it into a nearby ditch.

The tractor driver, who had serious by non-life-threatening injuries, was flown to the hospital. The car driver had only minor injuries and the truck driver faced no injury. The truck driver is facing a citation for inattentive driving while the crash remains under investigation.
