Three women were killed and another person suffered injuries after the vehicle they were riding in was struck by another vehicle driver, who is suspected of speeding and negligence, a report of ABC 7 stated on October 27.
The fatalities included Amy Taylor, 32, Lindsey Cohen, 35, and Ashley Sawatzke, 30. The three friends were living in Chicago and working for an advertising agency, but none of them are Chicago natives. Reports revealed the collision took place when a speeding vehicle struck the vehicle occupied by the three women. The Uber driver transporting the women sustained serious injuries, but he should make a full recovery.
The driver who caused the collision was identified as 23-year-old Jasen Randhawa. Court papers revealed that Randhawa tried to flee the scene and was under the influence before the crash took place. Homicide charges in relation to the incident were filed against Randhawa after he turned himself over to the police the next day.
