Recall: Klement’s Sausage Beef and Pork Items

Posted on November 11, 2016 1:08 pm under Defective Food Product

On November 8, Milwaukee, Wisconsin’s Kelment’s Sausage Company, Inc., issued a recall for nearly 1,689 pounds of pre-cooked beef and pork snack products that contained foreign material. The recall comes after an announcement made by the Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).

One consumer complaint prompted an investigation on unopened products, prompting the FSIS announcement and subsequent recall, which includes the following products: 1-ounce packages containing two pieces of “Klement’s original snack sticks naturally hardwood smoked no MSG added gluten free” that have a sell date of November 11, 2017, and case code 3262. The complaint was accompanied by one report of an oral injury.
