A rural house fire sent at least one person to hospital early this morning.
Authorities responded to the scene after receiving a report of a fire at approximately 1:30 a.m. According to the report, the blaze took place on a two-story home, leaving one person injured.
The victim, who was the only resident in his home, sustained injuries that are considered life threatening. He was rushed to University of Wisconsin Burn Center by local paramedics. He was treated for burns injuries and smoke inhalation.
Local firefighters were called to the scene to contain the fire. The cause of fire remains is yet to be determined. The investigation is still in progress.
