A $100,000 worth of settlement is expected to be given to a couple in Madison, Wisconsin after their son doctor died of injuries after being involved in an ambulance accident, an article of EMS1 reported on December 13.
According to reports, Stanley Phillips Jr., and his wife Connie filed a lawsuit against a hospital after their son Doctor Stanley Phillips III was killed in an ambulance crash in 2013. The doctor was conducting work when the ambulance he was riding in with a patient and hospital staff crashed.
Phillips’ parents were initially seeking to get a total of $6 million to recover the financial support they lost, and for the suffering and pain they experienced. However, they only got $1 million from the hospital’s insurance company.
