Authorities are still investigating a car accident on Interstate 41 which involved a Wisconsin State Patrol vehicle.

At around 7:32 p.m on December 16th, an unidentified car was traveling along the southbound lane of the interstate when it collided with a Wisconsin State Patrol squad car that was parked on the shoulder. According to reports, the driver may have not noticed the slow-moving traffic ahead, causing him to crash into the squad car.

The officer operating the squad car was reportedly investigating a traffic incident in the area when the collision took place. The car was fully marked and has its emergency lights on.

The driver of the car was identified as 23-year-old Fond du Lac man. He sustained a bump to the head but it was not confirmed if he was transferred to a hospital for treatment. The trooper seating in the squad car was not injured.
