The Volkswagen Group of America announced that it is recalling more than 135,000 Audi and Volkswagen models due to anti-lock brake system issues.

According to the report, the recall was initiated after the company discovered that the control unit for the anti-lock brake system has the possibility to fail when its electronic stability is activated. The company reportedly used an incorrect solder compound which may keep the electrical power to flow. There are 135,683 total vehicles affected in the recall. These include the following:

  • 2009-10 Volkswagen Jetta A5 sedans
  • 2009 Volkswagen Jetta SportWagen
  • Eos
  • GTI
  • Rabbit
  • Audi A3 vehicles
  • 2010 Volkswagen Golf A6

Consumers who purchased the listed vehicles are urged to get in touch with Volkswagen Group of America for more information about the issue. VGA will notify its consumers and offer free repairs.
No reports of accidents related to the issue have been confirmed.
