At least one person died following a fatal crash involving a semi-trailer and a vehicle on State Highway 21 near Sand Pit Road, Wednesday afternoon.
At around 2:30 p.m., a semi-trailer and an unidentified vehicle, for yet unknown reasons, collided head-on east of Sand Pit Road. The impact of the collision killed the driver of the smaller vehicle. The driver of the semi-trailer sustained injuries that were considered minor. He was taken to a local hospital as a precaution.
The identification of the victim is being withheld by authorities pending notification of his family.
The Oshkosh Fire Department and the Town of Omro First Responders responded to the scene to assist in the clearing of the site. How the crash actually took place is yet to be determined as the investigation is still in progress.
