A worker in Hendry County, Florida recently suffered critical injuries after an explosion took place while he was on the job at a chemical plant, an article of nbc-2.com reported on January 9.
According to reports, nearby residents felt the explosion that took place at the Paramount Chemicals & Plastics, Inc., as well as saw the debris that went airborne. Alongside the Felda, LaBelle, and Immokalee fire departments, the Florida Department and Environmental Protection responded due to the chemical presence in the facility. The injured worker, whose name was not released, was airlifted to a medical facility due to the severity of his condition. Agents from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) are expected to inspect the facility and they will monitor the condition of the injured worker.
