Authorities have released the names of the victims of a small plane crash at the Capitol Airport in Wisconsin last week: 41-year-old Cory Papenfuss and his wife, 37-year-old wife, Carmen Papenfuss.

According to reports, the single-engine plane was about to take off at the Capitol Airport when it crashed into an SUV parked in the grass near the runway. The impact of the collision seriously injured Papenfuss and his wife. They were rushed to Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, where Papenfuss succumbed to his injuries. Carmen Papenfuss remains in critical condition, despite being awake and showing signs of improvement.

Their five-month-old son, who was seating beside Carmen, sustained minor injuries. He was transported to Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin for treatment and is expected to recover.

Investigators were called to the scene to determine the cause of crash.
