Bicycle Helmet Program
From 1999 -2014 the Habush Habush & Rottier Charitable Foundation donated and distributed more than 110,600 bicycle helmets to children in the communities Habush serves. Emergency rooms nationwide see more than 700 kids who need treatment for injuries received while riding bikes, skateboards and scooters. Many of these injuries are life-threatening and disabling. Wearing helmets and other protective gear and following the rules of the road can help prevent injuries. Properly fitted bike helmets can reduce the risk of bike-related brain injuries. However, only 25 percent of cyclists ages 14 and younger wear a helmet. This program helped teach kids the importance of keeping safe by wearing helmets.
