4 People Killed in 3 Separate Accidents

Posted on October 30, 2007 8:10 am under Wrongful Death

Lately in Suffolk County, New York (on Long Island), the roads have turned deadly. This past weekend, 3 separate accidents left 4 people dead.

The first, involved a 25-year old that was going to go fishing and an errant car that was driving against traffic. The errant car and the other car struck head on and both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene. There were no witnesses to the crash. Investigators maintain that there were no weather-related issues and that there are many questions that are still unanswered.

The next crash involved an as-yet unidentified man crashing into a guard rail and continuing on for another 50 feet or so before crashing into a tree. The driver was partially ejected from the car through the front windshield and appears not to have been wearing a seatbelt. He too was pronounced dead at the scene.

The third crash involved three vehicles at an intersection. Two vehicles ran a red light and were then struck by a truck coming from a different direction. One of the red-light runners was killed. Two others involved in the crash were taken to Brookhaven Medical Center to be treated for non-life threatening injuries. The last driver was given tickets for unlicensed operation, and for driving a vehicle without the appropriate inspection, insurance or registration.
