UW-Madison Student Dies in Wreck

Posted on November 7, 2007 9:11 am under Wrongful Death

A 19-year old University of Wisconsin-Madison student was killed in an accident this weekend when the car she was riding in left the road, hit an embankment, and crashed into the cement pylon of an overpass last Thursday. Two other passengers in the car  had minor injuries and the driver was not hurt. All four were wearing seatbelts and alcohol was not a factor.

Shreya Dixit of Eden Prarie Minnesota had transferred to the University of Wisconsin to pursue a degree in international business. She was a 2006 honors graduate of Benilde-St. Margaret’s High School in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. A scholarship fund will be established in her name. Ms. Dixit was heading home for the weekend to spend time with her family and friends.
