One Dead in Footville Accident

A 79-year old lady crashed her car head on into the front of a tractor trailer near Footville, Wisconsin this morning. Police are investigating whether age was an issue.

Ms. Karen Moore, the 79 year old lady, veered into the path of an on-coming tractor trailer around 11:45 this morning. The preliminary investigation shows that the driver of the truck did everything in his power to avoid the smaller vehicle. The truck ended up in the ditch due to the driver’s efforts.

Speed, drugs, and alcohol are not considered to be contributing factors in the crash. Age and medical reasons are being considered as causes. Police are curious as to whether something such as a stroke or heart attack caused Ms. Moore to veer suddenly.

Both Ms. Moore and the driver of the truck were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash. The driver of the truck was uninjured. A third car was involved when a wheel fell off the truck and struck the car. That driver was also unhurt. An autopsy, including toxicology reports, is pending.
