The nursing home in Marinette that made the Nation’s Worst Nursing Homes list last week is now disupting their place on the list.

The CEO of Luther Home, Rev. Ken Michaelis, says that the nursing home landed on a federal watch list in 2004 because a troubled resident that phsically injured staff and inappropriately touched female residents. The Reverend feels that Luther Home should not be on the list since the resident has since left the facility.

The home is apparently still on the list because it takes two “perfect” inspections in a year to get off of the Center for Medicare and Medicaid’s watch list of 128 nursing homes in the country.

The list of nursing homes is made up of homes that have failed to meet one or more federal standards. The 54 named last week are among the nation’s poorest performers.
