Nissan Moto Co. has announced that they are recalling 16,000 Muranos and Infiniti EX-35 sport utility vehicles due to incorrectly programmed software that could lead the air bags not to deploy in a crash.
If the air bags were not to deploy, the risk of injuries in a crash would go up significantly.
Nissan sold 76,358 Muranos last year. The Infiniti EX was introduced in December of 2007 to compete with BMW’s X3 and Honda’s Acura RDX. They sold a total of 305 models in 2007.
The recall covers 2008 EX-35 models as well as some of the 2009 Muranos.
