Landlords Reach Settlement with Attorney General over Lead

Posted on November 4, 2008 5:11 am under Premises Liability

Bellows Falls, VT–Each of two landlords has been ordered to pay a $5,000 fine for failing to meet regulations regarding lead paint dictated by Vermont’s paint laws.

If the two landlords fail to meet state requirements in the future, they will then be fined $10,000.

Vermont’s legislature had passed a lead law in 1996, setting requirements for landlords. The law was strengthened last year after complaints that the original law had not put enough pressure on landlords.
