Motorcycle Rider Killed by Woman Painting Her Nails

An incident in Illinois represents the dangers of distracted drivers.  Last week,  a 56 year-old mother was killed at a red light after being hit from behind by a vehicle.

Police and emergency officials arrived on the scene to treat the woman.  She was taken to a hospital, where she would die from internal injuries.  Police questioned the woman who hit the motorcycle rider and asked her details about the accident.  The woman then admitted to police that she ran into the motorcycle rider because she was painting her finger-nails.

This incident highlights the dangers of distracted drivers on the road.  Be it texting, talking on the phone, eating, or shaving, distractions can dramatically increase the likelihood of an accident occurring.
