Minivan Hit by Train

Posted on May 27, 2009 4:47 am under Car Accidents

A woman and her son escaped serious injury after the car they were in was struck by a train.

The woman was in a minivan with her son,  when the two became stuck on a train track.  The woman’s husband was following in a car behind the mini-van and ran to help.  A police officer was in the area, and ran to the assistance of the vehicle as well. The husband and police officer noticed the freight train coming, and worked to remove everyone from the vehicle.  The woman was managed to be removed, but the son still remained in the car when it was struck by a train.

The impact caused the husband and the officer to be thrown several yards from the collision. The husband, the police officer, and the son were all taken to the hospital for treatment.
