A 10 year-old Sheboygan boy who was hospitalized Wednesdaymorning after being struck by a car while riding a bike outside his school hasbeen identified. The boy, identified as Antonio Barbeau, was riding his bikewith a classmate when the two stopped at the corner of South 16thStreet and Wilson Avenue at around 8 a.m. Wednesday.
According to the Sheboygan Police Department the classmatecrossed the intersection on his bicycle and, as Barbeau followed, he was hit bya car driven by 27 year-old Gary E. Gabryel. Barbeau was knocked off his bikeand hit the windshield before landing on the ground.
Barbeau was taken to St. Nicholas Hospital and later flownby Flight For Life to Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. He islisted in stable condition with non life-threatening injuries.
