A 57-year-old Madison woman was killed Friday night in a car crash on Interstate 39 in Marquette County, Wis., authorities said. Police received a call that someone was driving north in a southbound lane, and before police could locate her, the accident occurred. She died at the scene of the accident, authorities said. She was was wearing her seat belt at the time of the accident, police said.
The 23-year-old driver of the vehicle she hit suffered non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said. Police do not know if alcohol was a factor in the accident, but they are still investigating.
