Three people were injured when an SUV crashed into an idling semi tractor-trailer Tuesday in Racine County, Wis., authorities said. The 68-year-old driver may have suffered a blackout possibly related to a medical condition when she hit the semi, police said. Rescuers had to remove her 68-year-old husband from the vehicle, authorities said, and he suffered some chest pains, an injured wrist, and cuts to his legs. An 88-year-old passenger suffered some internal injuries, but police said none of the injuries sustained in the accident were life-threatening.
All three were taken to the hospital for treatment, authorities said. The driver of the semi did not suffer any injuries in the accident, police said. The crash is still under investigation.
